Dora Emma Miles, 96, of Hempfield Township, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 in St. Anne Home, Greensburg.  She was born July 5, 1921 in Somerset County, a daughter of the late Anna Louella (Adams) and Samuel Howard Hayden.  Her step-mother was Sarah Virginia Mensch.  She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School (1941) and Portsmouth General Nursing (1944).  Dora, a registered nurse, worked as a supervisor at the University of Cincinnati Hospital for most of her career, retiring in 1986.  She was an active member of Greensburg Alliance Church where she assisted with multiple committee activities.  She will be remembered for the hundreds of greeting cards and letters she sent yearly to shut-ins, those suffering from illness, family members and friends.  It was always Dora’s passion to reach out and help make others feel better.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Miles in 2002; siblings, Betty Mae (Hayden) Baker, John Albert Hayden, Howard Ray Hayden, and Ethel Marie (Hayden) Spencer; and step-siblings, Mildred Eunice Hayden, Richard McKinley Hayden, Nora Lee (Hayden) Gray and Martha Jean (Hayden) Dooley.  She is survived by her cousins, Beverly Kuhn, Lori Kuhn and Melanie Weimer; nieces, Cheryl Hayden, Karen (Hayden) Flukas, Christina Hayden and Terri Stallings; and nephews; Thomas and Robert Baker, and David and Howard Hayden.  There will be no public visitation.  A memorial service will begin at 11 AM Friday in LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg with The Rev. Dr. D.
