Jacinta Mann, 91, of Greensburg, PA and Lighthouse Point, FL died Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Greensburg.  She was born in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter of the late Magdalen and Bernard Mann of that city.  Prior to her retirement she held the position of statistician at the University of Wisconsin, and later was a professor at Seton Hill College (now University) where she taught statistics and research, women studies and world culture courses.  She served the college for half a century in the capacity of director of admissions, academic dean and professor.  She was a Sister of Charity from 1950 to 1981.  She was granted a Bachelor of Science degree by Southern Illinois University and then M.S. and Ph.D. by the University of Wisconsin; she also did a year of post-doctoral study in administration at Claremont Colleges.  During her tenure at Seton Hill, she served for ten years on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Commission for Women.  She was declared professor of the year at the college in 1985 and in 1991 an outstanding educator in the state by the Continuing Education Association.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas, Charles and Joseph, and sisters, Cecelia McGavin and Julia Ann DeYoung.  She is survived by her aunt, CDR. Margaret Rose Ruppert, Nurse Corps., U.S. Navy, Ret., and numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Assumption Chapel at Caritas Christi, Seton Hill.  Interment will follow in Sisters of Charity Cemetery at Seton Hill.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sisters of Charity or Seton Hill University Jacinta Mann Scholarship Fund.  LEO M.
