N. Clare McMahen, 72, of Unity Township, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016.  She was born July 4, 1943 in Indiana, PA, a daughter of the late Theodore “Bob” Coy and Margaret L. (Ruddock) Frye.  Prior to retirement she was employed at Bon-Ton, was previously manager at Ava Garbor Wig Boutique and was currently employed by Big Lots, Latrobe.  Clare a member and current President of VFW Post #8643 Auxiliary, lifetime member of the former Westmoreland Horsemans Association, former officer of Rolling Rock Hunt Pony Club, and attended the Community Church of Hecla.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father:  Ralph L. Frye, Sr.; an infant son and a sister-in-law:  Shirley Porterfield.  She is survived by her husband of 49 years:  Darrell E. McMahen; 2 daughters: Colleen Kent and her husband Christopher of Hempfield Township and Heather Miller and her husband David of Baltimore, OH; 4 grandchildren: Jonathan, Joshua and Elenore Kent and Danielle Miller; a sister: Patricia Roudebush of Greensburg; 2 brothers-in-law:  Melvin McMahen and wife Carolyn and The Rev. Dr. Dale L. Porterfield; and 6 nephews.  Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with The Rev. Dr. Dale L. Porterfield officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillview Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
