Paul S. “Gunner” Drexler, 90, of Hostetter, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Greensburg. He was born June 1, 1927 in Humphreys, a son of the late John and Catherine (Kocis) Drexler. Prior to retirement he worked at the Latrobe Municipal Authority, had been a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney, and was a veteran of the US Army. Gunner was a member of Unity Township American Legion Post #982 Pipetown, Amvets Post #94 United, VFW Post #8643 Pleasant Unity and VFW Post #515 Latrobe and served on their honor guard units. He was also a member of the Hostetter Slovak Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Cecelia L. (Furtak) Drexler; 5 brothers: Michael, Anthony and Joseph Dreskler and John and James Drexler; and his sister: Catherine Drexler. He is survived by 3 daughters: Mary Catherine Drexler and her significant other Kevin Wuchina of Hostetter, Ann Marie Coffman and husband William of Pilot Mt., NC and Cecelia Drexler of Hostetter; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Prayers will begin at 9:20 AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM to be celebrated in St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney, with The Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, O.S.B. as celebrant. Military service by VFW Post #33 honor guard and interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
