Paul T. Petrosky

October 1, 1925 ~ July 20, 2016 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Paul T. Petrosky, 90, of Unity Township, went beyond the sun to be with God Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Hempfield Township. He was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Latrobe, a son of the late Paul N. and Dorothy C. (McGuire) Petrosky. Paul was an Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient from the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was a coal miner at Indianola Newfield Mines of Republic Steel and also operated a small farm in Salem Township. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Trauger, UMWA No. 6132, in North Bessemer, VFW Post 8643, in Pleasant Unity, and Roosevelt Club, in South Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn M. (Starry) Petrosky; his second wife, Margaret L. (Kozak) Petrosky; and a daughter, Sandra Petrosky. He is survived by his daughter, Pauletta Jones and husband, James, of Lycippus; two grandchildren, Randy Hedrick and Payten Raymar; two great-granddaughters, Jordan Hedrick and McKenzie Campbell; three sisters, Geraldine Chedrick and Beverly Sandroco, both of Michigan, and Carol Deptula and husband, Daniel, of Tennesee; his brother, George Petrosky, of Arizona; his special friend and companion, Elizabeth "Betty" Shinsky; good friend, Darrell Smith; neighbors, Bob and Bev Gettemy; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dick Seigfried, officiating. Military services accorded by the Armbrust Veterans honor guard and entombment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The family would like to thank the VA for their assistance and Excela Hospice and the nursing staff at Oak Hill Nursing Home for their care.
