Peggy J. Wallak, 82, of Pleasant Unity, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Greensburg Care Center, Hempfield Township. She was born April 21, 1935, in Norvelt, a daughter of the late William F. and Sarah Jane (Kunkle) Baker. Prior to retirement, she worked at the former Stemmler's Market and Pleasant Unity Pharmacy, both in Pleasant Unity, and Gee Bee Furniture in Greensburg. Peggy liked going to the Rivers Casino, and the fall trips to Rocky Gap, Md. She also loved and participated in all of the activities at Greensburg Care Center wearing her LuLaroe outfits. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew C. "Boots" Wallak Sr.; and a sister, Doris J. Kietz. She is survived by three children, Andrew J. Wallak Jr., of Pleasant Unity, Sally A. Rudy, and husband, James, of Unity Township, and Anna M. DeLorenzo, and husband, Mark, of Pleasant Unity; three grandchildren, Ian Rudy and Taneh and Tyler DeLorenzo; a great-granddaughter, Natalie DeLorenzo; two sisters, Sarah Jane Heide, and husband, Wayne, and Nancy Zimmerman, and husband, Richard, all of Unity Township; two brothers, William, and wife, Fran, of Scottdale and Pastor David Baker, and wife, Sandy, of Red Wing, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, at which time a funeral liturgy will be held with the Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to your favorite charity.
