Philip G. Rosensteel Sr., 78, of Latrobe, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 12, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Oliver K. Rosensteel and Mary C. (Spelker) Steininger. He was a veteran of the USMC and member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Trauger. Phil was a retired firefighter from Newark, N.J. Fire Department, then worked for Travel Contractors in Jeannette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan L. Rosensteel, in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean M. (Payne) Rosensteel; three children, Philip G. Rosensteel Jr., and wife, Julie, of Latrobe, Pauline A. Williams, and husband, Robert, of Allison Park, and Scott E. Rosensteel, of Irwin; four grandchildren, James R. Hudson, of Gibsonia, Philip G. Rosensteel III, of Latrobe, and Katlyn S. and Nathan R. Robl, both of Allison Park; two stepgrandchildren, Zachary Bates, of Derry, and Briar Hancock, of Blairsville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Daniel E. Baker officiating. Military honors by VFW Post No. 33 Honor Guard and interment will follow in St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul UCC, P.O.
