Ray Edward "Pap" King, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, went home with Jesus on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Ray was born at home April 13, 1930, in Bridgeport. He was the son of the late Rev. George and Ella (Zufall) King. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie E. (Whitaker) King, the love of his life; and by his brothers and sisters, Evelyn Brown, Wayne King, Claude King, and Wilda Shaffer. He is survived by his daughter, Rae Ellen, and son-in-law, Kevin Tamblyn, of Mt. Pleasant, with whom he resided. He is also survived by his two sons, Edward King (Diane), of Berlin, Md., and Gregory King (Patricia), of Rochester, Minn.; his grandchildren, Brook Wilkins (Matthew), Matthew King (Theresa), the Rev. Joshua Tamblyn (Lindsay), Julie Gore (Steve), Emily Manthey (Nathan), Bryan King, and Mitchell King; his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth, Jacob and Leo Tamblyn, Vincent and Kara King, Natalie and soon-to-be Baby Girl Gore. Ray is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in Paris, France. Prior to his retirement, Ray worked as an electrical draftsman for Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. After retirement, Ray managed and maintained apartment buildings for 20 years. Ray was active in serving the Lord at the Bridgeport Free Methodist Church, Armbrust Wesleyan Church, and most recently at Journey Church, where he held membership. Ray loved to be active, always a handyman helping anyone who needed something fixed. He also loved spending time and babysitting his great-grandchildren, who are one of his greatest accomplishments in life. Ray's family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in Journey Church, 311 Holly Place, Mt. Pleasant, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev.
