Richard L. Burke, 86, of Unity Township, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at his home. He was born April 7, 1930, in Carbon Township, Huntingdon County, a son of the late James T. and Charlotte M. (Lemin) Burke. He married Ethel A. (Wolff) on April 21, 1961, at St. Vincent Basilica. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dr. Karen Roschella and husband, John, of Cooksville, Md., and Kathy Palmer and husband, Dave, of Latrobe; four grandsons, David Palmer and wife, Mallory, and Jacob Palmer, all of Latrobe, and Joseph and Nicolas Roschella, both of Cooksville, Md.; and a great-granddaughter, "Little" Brooklyn Palmer. He was the last surviving member of his family of 10. Richard served during the Korean War in the Army 101st Airborne Division at Fort Jackson, S.C., from 1954 to 1956. He was a 1948 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School. He worked at J&L Steel in Aliquippa, Bud Miller Chevrolet in Greensburg then retired after 30 years as a US Postal Service rural carrier in Murrysville. There will be no visitation.
