Richard Salvatore Obituary

Richard “Duck” Salvatore, 88, of Greensburg, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born December 25, 1929 in Greensburg, a son of the late Frank and Concetta (Fontana) Salvatore.  Prior to retirement he had been employed by the Greater Greensburg Sewage Authority.  He was a member of Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg.  He was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict.  Duck was also a member of the Hilltop Social Club.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ella Montuori, Jennie Drost, Margaret Charley, Mary Barone and Carmella Salvatore “Tootsie”; and his brothers, Anthony “Blick”, James “Splat”, Frank “Chick”, Thomas “Fuzzy” and Michael Salvatore.  He is survived by his brother, Louis Salvatore and wife Carmella of Greensburg; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  There will be no public visitation.  A memorial service will begin at 11 AM Thursday in Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg with the Rev. John M. Smaligo officiating.  Private interment in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.  LEO M.
