Samuel E. Kimmel, 90, of Southwest Greensburg, died peacefully  Friday, September 23, 2016 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  He was born January 30, 1926 in Greensburg, a son of the late Samuel M. and Viola (Waugaman) Kimmel.  Prior to retirement he was employed at Overly Manufacturing and later Brown Boveri.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg, and was a US Navy veteran during WWII serving in the Pacific.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth H. (Hoffman) Kimmel on June 1, 2014; his brother:  William Kimmel; and his sister:  Dorothy Mae Kimmel.  He is survived by his son:  Steven Kimmel and wife Kathy of Cranberry Township and a daughter: Cathy Palmer and husband Kevin of Southwest Greensburg; 2 grandchildren:  Taylour Kimmel and Daniel Palmer; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Funeral service will begin at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with The Rev. Martin R. Ankrum officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post #33 honor guard.  The comfort and loving care provided by the nurses at Westmoreland Hospital was greatly appreciated by the family.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Excela Home Health Care and Hospice, 134 Industrial Park Road, Suite 1600, Greensburg, PA  15601.
