Eleanor A. (Thomas) Long, 89, of Greensburg, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at her home. She was born October 25, 1929 in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late Albert K. and Anna (Galvin) Thomas. Prior to retirement she had been a custodian at East Hempfield Elementary School and also Greensburg Alliance Church. She was a member of Greensburg Alliance Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roland W. “Jolly” Long, Jr.; two brothers, Donald E. and Kenneth A. Thomas; her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy L. and Guy Garzotto; and her sister-in-law, Janet Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Shaffer, of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Victoria Touchet and husband Brennan, and their daughter, Arizona (Sweet Little Honey), and Kristina Tedeski and husband Matthew, and their children, Jade and Landon; her brother, Glenn E. Thomas, of Southwest Greensburg; her sister-in-law, Jane Thomas, of Greensburg; special friends, Michael Rosensteel, of San Diego, Calif., David Rosensteel, of Elizabethtown, and Scott Cycak, of Saylorsburg; special neighbor, Timothy DuVall, of Greensburg; her dog, Prissy; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 10 to 11 AM at the Greensburg Alliance Church, 4428 Route 136, Greensburg where a memorial service will begin at 11 AM.
