Frank H. Santavy, 88, of Greensburg, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, in his home. He was born May 8, 1930, in Greensburg, a son of the late John and Antonette (Viorac) Santavy. Prior to retirement, he had been a custom home builder in the Greensburg area for at least 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 981, South Greensburg. Frank was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War, stationed in Guantanamo Bay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Fennell; and his brother, John Santavy. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy H. (Emerick) Santavy; three sons, Ron Santavy and wife, Joyce, of Derry, David Santavy and wife, Bobbie, and Barry Santavy and wife, Terri, all of Greensburg; his daughter, Carol (Santavy) Hess and husband, Mark, of Ohio; his stepson, Richard Mendola and wife, Sheryl, of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; his stepgranddaughter; six great-grandchildren; his uncle, Cyril Bioral and wife, Betty, of California State; his former wife, Julia (Svetkovich) Santavy, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with Chaplain Drew DeCrease officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post No. 981 Honor Guard, South Greensburg.
