James Pegg Obituary

James W. Pegg, 63, of Greensburg, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.  He was born March 19, 1955, in Greensburg, a son of the late Charles E. and Nina (Berkey) Pegg.  Prior to retirement he had been a sergeant with SCI Pine Grove State Correctional Institution and formerly PPG Industries, South Greensburg.  He was protestant by faith. Jim was a Marine Corp Veteran, a member of the South Greensburg Hunt Club, the Ferndale Sportsmans Club, as well as numerous other sportsmans clubs. He was an active fireman at the South Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department, transferred to GVFD Hose Co. #8 and later became a social member of Hose Co. #8.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles A. Pegg and two nephews, Charles A. Pegg, II and Michael Pegg.  He is survived by his brother, Terry A. Pegg and wife Cheryl, of Greensburg; a sister, Becky Katich and husband Richard, of South Greensburg; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. John M. Smaligo officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to GVFD Hose Co. #8, 900 Highland Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601. www.bachafh.com
