Joseph L. Short

Joseph L. Short, 86, of Unity Township, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Unity Township.  He was born August 6, 1932 in Lockport, a son of the late Bryan and Carrie (Hysong) Short.  He was a US Army veteran of the Korean war and prior to retirement worked at Dill Construction.  He was an avid coon, turkey and deer hunter, avid fisherman and had been a member of the former Fairmount Church near Stahlstown.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Ayers) Short, a son, Joseph Wade Short and all his brothers and sisters.  He is survived by a son, Thomas L. Short and wife Connie of Unity Township, 2 daughters, Cyndia L. Goughenour and husband John of Greensburg and Joanne Perry and husband Chuck of Greensburg, 6 grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Walters and Rodney of Penn Township, Britt Anne Lynn and husband Greg of Derry, Kelly Anne Short of Ohio, Amber Newcaster and husband Nick of Georgia, Matt Perry and wife Sara of New York and Mindy Perry of Greensburg, 6 great grandchildren, Piper Perry, Kodie and Trenton Walters, Kaysea Hart and Jill and Maren Newcaster, and a number of nieces and nephews.  Honoring Joe’s request all services are private.  Leo M.
