Joseph S. Zider

Joseph S. Zider, 96, of Greensburg, died Friday, August 3, 2018 in the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Pittsburgh in Greensburg.  He was born November 3, 1921 in United, a son of the late John and Agnes (Severa) Zider.  Prior to retirement he had been employed by Robertshaw Controls in New Stanton for 42 years.  He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Joseph loved his Catholic faith and attended church daily.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen C. (Coons) Zider in 1979;  two brothers, Stanley Zider in 2012 and John Zider in 2016. He is survived by his sister, Helen Costelnock and husband William of Greensburg; his sister-in-law Emma Zider of United; a special niece, Patty Willcox and her husband Terry of Southwest Greensburg; and several other nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  Prayers will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg.  Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. www.bachafh.com.
