K. LaVerne (Fry) Shick

K. LaVerne Shick, 96, of Greensburg, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at home.  She was born September 28, 1921 in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late Frank and Edna (McIntyre) Frye.  She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Greensburg and was former President of the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department Hose Co. No. 7  Ladies Auxiliary.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Shick on January 12, 1988; her son, James Edward Shick; and two brothers, Willford and Clifford Fry.  She is survived by her son, Robert E. Shick, Jr. and wife Barbara, of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Denise Poole and Robert “Rick” Shick and friend Valerie Lute; three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher and Zachary; two great-great-grandchildren, Blake and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Robert R. Garris officiating.  Private interment will be in St. Clair Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Promise Hospice or Otterbein United Methodist Church, Greensburg.  www.bachafh.com
