Laura Marie (Wolff) Stewart

Laura Marie Stewart, 95, of Unity Township, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at Ark Manor Personal Care, Salem Township. She was born Aug. 3, 1922, in Mutual, a daughter of the late Chalmers R. and Laura A. (Buzzard) Wolff. She was a graduate of Hurst High School, member of Pleasant Unity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and was a former 4H leader. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was proud to see her great-great-granddaughter. Marie was an avid daily walker, loved cooking and baking, needlepoint crafts, hosting parties and playing in dominoes clubs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dewey Wayne Stewart; a daughter, Sandra Lee Stewart; her granddaughter, Amy Lynn Kaufman; four brothers, Charles T., Raymond B., Russell C. and Harry K. Wolff; and two sisters, Dorothy A. Stahl and Florence G. Stahl. She is survived by two daughters, Geri Kaufman and husband, Ron, and Nancy Walters and husband, Ken, all of New Alexandria; two grandsons, Eric Kaufman and wife, Dorthy, and Adam Walters and wife, Danette; nine great-grandchildren, James Singian and wife, Angela, Erin, Clay, Cody, Courtney, Roni and Emma Kaufman, and Sydney and Aiden Walters; a great great-granddaughter, Penelope Kaufman; two sisters, Ethel A. Burke, of Greensburg, and Evelyn M. Painter and husband, Hal, of Murrysville; a brother, Clarence R. Wolff, of Greensburg; four sisters-in-law, Deanne Wolff, Thelma Kemerer, Janet Leichliter and June Taylor; a number of nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Ann and Ralph Frye and family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Unity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Olivia E. Graham officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
