Leona Ruth Stein

Leona Ruth Stein, 85, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Monday, August 20, 2018 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.  “Aunt Ruthie” was born November 21, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Dennis C. and Josephine (Priester) Stein.  She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney.  Ruth worked various jobs as a waitress and housekeeper and also was a cashier at Davis Supermarket, Greensburg.  Aunt Ruthie took care of her family and loved to mow her grass.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 9 brothers, Floyd, Morris, George, Raymond, Joseph, Charles, Robert, Earl and Regis Stein; and 3 sisters, Edna Schultz, Amelia Kloos and Esther Stein.  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity.  Prayers will begin at 9:20 AM Saturday in the funeral home followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney, with The Rev. James F. Podlesny, OSB as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township.
