Michael A. Sturnick, 84, of Greensburg, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home. He was born June 18, 1934 in Greensburg, a son of the late Francis T., Sr. and Angeline M. (Zello) Sturnick. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Greensburg Concrete Block for 43 years. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg. He was a Coast Guard veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Roosevelt Club, Hempfield Twp., and the American Legion Post #981, South Greensburg. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Massari) Sturnick on November 10, 2010; his grandson, Michael Charles Sturnick; his brother, Francis T. Sturnick, Jr; and his sister, Doloris DeFloria. He is survived by his daughter, Diane M. Sturnick and husband Allan Miller, of Greensburg; two sons, Michael J. Sturnick and wife Susan, of Greensburg, and Christopher A. Sturnick and wife Nancy, of Jeannette; six grandchildren, Bert, Alex and Olivia Miller, and Jessica, Lauren and Nicholas Sturnick; his brother, George J. Sturnick and his wife Donna, of Greensburg; two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Thomas and husband Donald, of Armbrust, and Beverly M. Zimmerman and husband Gary, of Richmond, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
