Gary Lee Shirey, 70, of Latrobe, died Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born July 21, 1951 in Latrobe, a son of the late Robert Edward and Lois Jean (Allshouse) Shirey. Gary was Methodist by faith and served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement he was a truck driver with CTI in Saltsburg. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Beverly Boffemyer, Robert Edward Shirey, Jr., Blaine Alan Shirey, Larry Wayne Shirey and Timothy Alan Shirey. He is survived by 7 siblings, Bonnie Sue Seiler and Darla K. Shirey both of Sacramento, CA, Brian Roy Shirey of Greenville, Lee Ann Hoel of Wexford, Marsha Lynn Milla of Paduca, KY, William Franklin Shirey of Greensburg and Allen Roy Shirey of Delaware, his fiancée, Michelle Bier of Latrobe, a number of nieces and nephews and his dog Gracie. There will be no visitation or service. Private inurnment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasant Unity, is assisting with arrangements.
