Richard E. Terrify, 96, of South Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1924, in South Greensburg, a son of the late Michael and Susan (Chelochuck) Terrify. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Brown-Boveri, South Greensburg. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II and member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores L. (Turriziani) Terrify, and two sisters, Elizabeth Terrify and Rosemary Yakubisin. He is survived by his son, Richard E. Terrify Jr., of South Greensburg, two daughters, Beverly Balik (John), of Penn Hills, and Cindy Terrify, of South Greensburg, two grandchildren, Becky Rogers (Adam) and John Michael Balik Jr. (Crystal), two great-grandsons, Owen and Caleb Rogers, a sister, Carole Plevelich, of Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg, at which time a funeral liturgy will be held with The Rev. Lawrence Manchas as celebrant. Full military honors by VFW Post 33 honor guard and interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township. www.bachafh.com.
