Betty J. Hirko, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, April 7, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe. She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Mammoth, a daughter of the late Walter W. and Katherine Z. (Albright) Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Hirko Sr.; two sisters, Jane Hutter and Lois Butler; and a brother, Harry W. Baker. She is survived by three children, Norene H. Smith and husband, Lee, of Derry, Albert P. Hirko Jr. and wife, Brandy, of Stahlstown, and Diana L. Casturo and husband, Charles, of Mt. Pleasant. She also enjoyed her four grandchildren and was looking forward to her first great-granddaughter. She is also survived by a brother, Robert B. Baker, of Mt. Pleasant Township; a sister, Connie E. Schifano, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Paul Prinkey officiating.
